In the land of Sparta, the times were tough and the warriors were strong. They spent all of their lives in a state of readiness, ready to fight for their country at the drop of a hat. They were trained from an early age to know how to fight and fight hard, leading many people to believe that the furniture and belongings in Sparta were as harsh as the warriors were. This, however, is not true. Because the men were gone so often, it was the women who became the artisans, and they create designs that appealed to them, which were often fairly feminine and very delicate. They created everything from the pottery to the furniture, and even made a form of bar stools.
The Sparta Bar Stool is like a tribute to those women in Sparta. It is a beautifully feminine metal bar stool with many soft touches that make it a piece of furniture that you could look at for hours at a time and would be able to find something new in it every time you looked. It has long spindly legs that curve outwards and upwards, with supports that look more like artwork than necessity. The seat is made using a faux suede fabric and is the only fabric on the entire stool. The back of the stool has entwined scrollwork with an almost floral or leafy design.
This delicate looking bar stool is anything but, and has been designed by Hillsdale Furniture to stand up to whatever you have to put it through during your daily routine. It would work beautifully in a kitchen or in an outdoor bar that is covered and protected from the elements. This is one affordable bar stool that will have all women sighing with gladness over its beauty.

Have you taken the time to look at nightstands lately? Have you noticed that they all look very much alike? For some reason, many furniture manufacturers have figured out that they can change up the look of beds and headboards easily, making for unique styles, but they haven’t figured out how to make nightstands or other pieces of bedroom furniture look any different. Why is that? If you’ve got a unique looking bed, you should also have a unique nightstand to complete your bedroom furniture, right?
The Fashion Bed Group is not a company to rest on their laurels, and they are known in the furniture business for creating truly unique designs. Their beds and headboards are second to none, in both design and quality, and they have made an effort to make other pieces of bedroom furniture look as different as their beautiful beds. Take, for instance, the Malibu bed. This is a beautiful contemporary bed which any person who enjoys a different kind of look would be ecstatic to have in their bedroom. But what if you’re looking for a nightstand to match your bed? What then?
Then you turn to the Malibu nightstand. This nightstand is a part of the Malibu bedroom collection and perfectly matches the Malibu bed. It is made using the same high quality, heavy gauge steel, and has the same flowing lines that the bed does. In lieu of a drawer, this metal nightstand has got waving lines, reminiscent of a gently flowing ocean, with a small oval mark, which is where a drawer pull would be. The best in modern bedroom furniture, it has a very industrial look to it and has plenty of room on top to hold your clock, books, or lamp. Don’t be afraid to pair this with other bedroom pieces, as it will fit into almost any bedroom décor.

Previously there has been legislation governing the characters on GB number plates but this did not stop people having plates made up with italic letters or worse. To stamp out the practise new laws were passed defining both the stroke of the characters and the font which is the Charle Wright font.

Some of the most innovative designers are a part of the trade show industry in one form or another. From design of truss exhibit booths to some of the detailed graphics that display branding and sell products, there are top notch designers involved. For this reason, it would be a good idea for any design student to visit a major trade show. On view will be structural design, graphic design, product displays as well as the latest product design. It all pretty much comes together at trade shows.

We just found this great little video that answers the question: What is a widget?
Widgets used to mean any mechanical part that you didn’t know the name to, so the question “What is a widget” didn’t used to make sense! But today, the term has been co-opted by Internet software enthusiasts. Widgets really fall into three forms, so follow closely:
1. A desktop widget is a simple application that performs a function, like a pop-up calculator.
2. An application widget is a simplified version of a running application, like a “minimized” form so you can see what’s happening.
3. An information widget collects data from the Internet, or other network sources, and presents it graphically and simply.
Now that you know what a widget is, can you guess what a thing-a-ma-jig is?

I love personalised number plates. When I am sitting at stop lights, I always look at the plates around me to see if there are any personalised ones to figure out. Some are really difficult in my opinion, only something vehicle owner understands. Some are really simple to figure out. Now Northumbria Numbers offers a website for you to create your own private number plates or personalised car registrations. The site is simple to work with and definitely worth your time to check out.

The manufacture of car number plates has undergone many changes over the years. Early plates were pressed out of a sheet of metal. then plastic digits were rivetted onto a metal plate. The advent of acrylic plates made for a highly reflective number plate but they were still time consuming to make. The latest innovation has been the use of a printer connected to a computer so the operator can just type in the registration number and the printer prints the black digits onto the reflective background then all that remains is for the acrylic to be stuck over it.
